Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Trevano ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use the Trevano app. We designed Trevano so that your data stays under your control.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: email address, name (if you share it), language, region, time zone and unit preferences. If you sign in with Apple, we receive an identifier from Apple and, if you choose, your name and email (which may be a private relay address).
- Training data: your goals, experience, training days and duration, equipment, workouts, sets, loads, repetitions, personal records, check-ins (energy and muscle soreness), cardio activities and notes.
- Health-related data (with your explicit consent): body regions you ask us to protect and notes about limitations. We only process this information if you consent in the app, and you may withdraw consent at any time.
- Usage signals: how you use training features (for example, when you train, how long sessions last, exercises you swap, rest timer use). These signals contain no free text and are used to personalise your training.
- AI conversations: messages you send to the in-app coach and its replies.
- Uploads: workout sheets (PDFs or photos) you import and images you attach to support requests. Equipment photos used for recognition are processed and not stored.
- Purchases: subscription status and transaction identifiers received from Apple. We never receive your payment card details.
- Device data: device model, app version, push notification token.
2. How we use your data
- To provide the service: create and adapt your training plan, record workouts and show progress (contract performance).
- To personalise training based on how you actually train, including AI suggestions and adjustments according to the autonomy you choose (contract performance; consent for health-related data).
- To send transactional emails and notifications such as sign-in codes, reminders and weekly summaries (contract performance; you control reminders in the app).
- To provide support, keep the service secure, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations (legitimate interests; legal obligation).
We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Artificial intelligence
To power the coach, workout sheet import and equipment recognition, the relevant content (your message, training context or uploaded file) is sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, which processes it on our behalf and does not use it to train its models under our agreement. AI suggestions are generated automatically; you may review every action taken by AI in the app.
4. Sharing with service providers
We share data only with providers that process it on our behalf: Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage and email delivery, United States), OpenAI (AI processing, United States), Apple (Sign in with Apple, push notifications, App Store purchases) and, only if you connect it, Strava. Apple Health data stays on your device unless you choose to import activities into Trevano.
5. International transfers
Your data is stored in the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, it is deactivated immediately and permanently erased after 7 days (the period during which signing in again cancels the deletion), except for minimal records we must keep by law (for example, a record that a deletion was performed, without personal content).
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Brazil's LGPD and California's CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to access, correct, delete and export your data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. You may download a copy of your data and delete your account directly in the app (Profile › Settings). You may also contact us at privacy@trevano.life. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
8. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and audited actions. Third-party tokens (such as Apple or Strava) are stored encrypted.
9. Children
Trevano is not intended for children under 16 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
We will inform you in the app about material changes to this policy.
